Needs Work... Poor User Interface... Not a Good Replacement for those using WeatherDock!
I purchased this based on good reviews and those that compared it to “WeatherDock”.
My basic complaints with this app are its user interface, user displays and that it is not as User friendly as it should be. The user does not have the ability to choose font sizes or type. Nor do they have the ability to control the icon size or placement within the dropdown menu. While this may not normally be an issue it is with this app because the default types, sizes and colors of fonts used along with the default size, placement and usage of icons is neither aesthetically pleasing or easy to read. In easy to read I mean, one should be able to quickly glance at the dropdown and understand all the “high-value” information right away. Since this app uses the same font, size, color and weight for all information displayed in the dropdown the user is forced to read it as though it were a book. No large icons are used in the dropdown to convey information to the user quickly.
Another area that needs work is the user friendliness around adding locations or stations. The user is forced to enter both a “Title” and “Lookup Text” when adding a new location. While it is a nice feature to be able to edit location titles it should auto-populate with the standard default text for that location. This means double work for entering locations and is very tedious and time consuming. Forget using copy and paste because this app does not recognize menu or keyboard commands for select all, copy and paste for all fields. You have to know were you can use what.
You cannot jump between cities within the menu dropdown either!
I am still searching for a good replacement for “WeatherDock”
